Paris Photo 2024 | Stand E29

Preview Day, Wednesday 6 November
Fair Dates, 7 — 10 November

Returning to the Grand Palais for Paris Photo this November, WEBBER are excited to be showcasing the work of two American artists, Tee A. Corinne (1943-2006) and Peter Tomka (b. 1989).

Following the success of the recent exhibition A forest fire between us at WEBBER 939 in Los Angeles this September, a selection of Tee A. Corinne’s Yantra works will be on display alongside intimate solarised portraits of the artist's community whilst Peter Tomka will showcase a new body of work, Bachelor Suite, a collection of 10 unique photographs.

With her portraits of lesbian lovemaking and his layered explorations of gay pleasure and eroticism, the photographic practices of Tee A. Corinne and Peter Tomka both reclaim sexual liberation as a vital aspect of queerness. Bridging generations and histories, Corinne and Tomka reflect on the freedom inherent in sexual expression, making it a central theme in their respective bodies of work. This common thread extends into their creative processes, as both artists engage with the creativity of analogue photography to further the concepts and aesthetics of the final artwork. Their shared commitment to the craft of photography connects to a concept of queer materialism, emphasising the significance of the materiality inherent in their photographic practices.
